FTP and Zip Passwords Masked and Encrypted

In an effort to remain vigilant in cyber security practices to protect sensitive information within Customer Master, FTP and Zip Password fields have been masked and encrypted. Password characters will display as asterisks, and the password can be unmasked by clicking in the password field. Users at companies utilizing MACC’s Security can unmask the password fields if they have the correct security roles.

File | Preferences | Transmission Preferences | MACC tab: The FTP Password and Zip Password on the MACC tab have been masked and encrypted. In addition to the MACC tab, the following tabs and their FTP and/or Zip Password fields were also masked and encrypted:

  • Directory tab
  • Directory Assistance tab
  • E911 tab
  • LIDB/CNAM tab

The Password column in the E911 and LIDB/CNAM grids have been changed to a checkbox and will be checked when a password is populated.

Maintenance | Locate | Email Setup | Locate 811 Email Setup: The Password (Email) field in the Locate 811 Email Setup screen was masked and encrypted. The Password column in the Locate 811 Email Setup grid has been changed to a checkbox and will be checked when a password is populated.

Maintenance | Messaging | Notification Setup | From Address | Notification Setup – “From” Addresses | Notification Setup – “From” Addresses Editor: The Password field in the Notification Setup – “From” Addresses – Editor is masked and encrypted. The “Show Password” checkbox was removed from the screen, as the password can now be shown by clicking in the password field.
